I don't know if this is correct or wrong, but if it is then it's somewhat good news.

I have a sinking feeling that what this is supposed to mean is Season One of DBZ on Blu-Ray and Wal-Mart just put it up wrong. But, if it's true, I'm so buying.

It can't be for DBZ. Look at the description. It's clearly for Dragon Ball.

It says it's scheduled for a September release, but FUNi's solicitations for September haven't come out yet, so we'll have to wait and see. But I'm actually starting to get a feeling that this just might be the moment we've all been waiting for.

I didn't even bother to read the description the first time cuz I was so sure it was just the Z BD. Reading it now.... o__o

But the part that strikes me as odd is it lists it as widescreen. I thought they learned their lesson bout that one. Sure, the Z sets sold like hotcakes, but they'd have sold even better in fullscreen. They left GT alone, would they REALLY make the same mistake again? : /

I wouldn't read too much into the specs. Wal*Mart's specifications have proven sometimes to be all kinds of messed up, just like Amazon's on occasion. As for the "widescreen" thing, that's also something that retails sometimes goof on, so I don't think we need to freak out just yet until we have it confirmed either way from FUNi themselves. If it is widescreen, though, then FUNi has pretty much lost what little respect I gained for their DragonBall department after their good GT sets. I agree, they should know better by now.

widescreen or fullscreen
if I can get the entire Dragonball season sets in continuity along with Z and GT
I'll take em with no complaints

Yeah, it being Wal-Mart and we've heard nothing from FUNi is the reason I'm skeptical anyway.

I don't mind the wide-screening, but I do prefer it be left in fullscreen. I'm one of the fans who will still buy it if it's widescreen, but I just can't see why they'd do it after not doing it to GT.

Still though, for them to do Season 1 would mean they got those 13 episodes back, right? Surely they wouldn't start DB Season Sets with just what they can put out. If that's the case, I'm considerably less enthused.

All presumptions aside, I do hope this is true, I just wasn't banking on it being so soon. I'd finally gotten away from Z and GT's hold on me and could really start ordering some stuff I've put off for aaaagggeeess now. And now DB returns to pull me in. Curses, foiled again!

MagicBox what was wrong with the GT sets.

Almost nothing. Read my post; I said they were good.

Also, it seems they are releasing the two DBZ TV specials on seperate disc's. Odd...

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11100002

This could only make sence if each disc was chop full of extra's and goodies about each special. But we all know that won't be the case so... what the ****?

Ah, such is FUNimation...

So, now we have another mysterious release.  I know this isn't as pressing since we've already had a remastered Trunks special, but it's worth pointing out since both are from Wal*Mart...

On the bright side, it looks like this random release could be where Wal*Mart got the widescreen specs from, in addition to the DVD case dimensions. They might have just carelessly copy/pasted those specs onto the Dragon Ball set, which means these sets might not be cropped.

I was actually considering getting all the old sets for this series but if they're releasing new boxsets for the original Dragonball I'll just get those. Hopefully this is legit and hopefully the widescreen part isn't.

Also, the page on walmart.com says "Language: Japanese". That must be wrong so maybe the widescreen thing is too. Either that or they decided to make Dragonball their first sub only release...

If Overlord Gen-sama says Funi doesn't do sub only sets, they don't do them. I think this is an error on Wal-Mart's part. The only thing that makes me mad about these sets is that I own all but the first and last Dragonball 2 disk sets. So I'd be basically rebuying the whole series.
